Every dome hangs on its own line, cut to its own length, from the same brass plate — so the fixture doesn't sit at one height. It descends. From the hall you see the lowest domes and the rest receding upward. From the landing you are standing among them. From the top you look straight down through the whole spiral at once. A ring of lights gives every one of those positions the same view.
