Brushed Gold Hardwired Wall Sconces, Set of Two with Clear Glass Tube Shades

This is a pair of hardwired wall sconces with brushed gold frames and 15.4-inch clear glass tube shades, made for bathroom vanities, bedroom walls and stairwells where a long, slim profile suits the space better than a compact shade.

The full metal body carries a transparent glass tube that spreads light along its length rather than concentrating it, and the E26 ceramic socket inside is rated to handle prolonged heat, which is the part that usually fails on a cheap vanity light. Each sconce can be mounted facing up or down, and the set includes all mounting hardware. Bulbs are sold separately.

Design Story

A 15.4-inch glass tube changes what a sconce can do. A round or drum shade sends light in most directions at once; a tube sends it along its length, so the wash on the wall becomes a long vertical or horizontal band rather than a pool. That is why tube fixtures are common around mirrors, where the aim is even, side-to-side light rather than a bright centre.

The housing is full metal in a brushed gold finish, and the socket is ceramic rather than plastic. This matters more than it sounds: an incandescent or halogen bulb in an enclosed tube runs hot, and ceramic withstands that heat without the brittleness and discolouration that plastic sockets develop. The thick clear glass is chosen for light transmission, so the shade does not tint the bulb's colour.

LIGHTEXP keeps the two mounting orientations available because the same fixture then suits a vanity, where downlighting flatters, and a hallway, where uplighting is quieter on the eye. It is a single product doing two jobs.

Where It Works Best

Bathroom vanity — two tubes flanking the mirror. Mounted either side of a mirror and facing down, the fixtures put even light across the face rather than shadowing the brow, which is the reason sconces beat a single overhead fixture at a vanity. A pair of 15.4-inch tubes also covers a wider vanity than shorter shades would. Brushed gold pairs naturally with marble, deep green or navy cabinetry and matte stone basins, and stays warm against white tile. For sconce height and mirror spacing, the Lighting Design Guides cover vanity layouts.

Bedroom wall and headboard — long, slim bedside light. Above a headboard or either side of a bed, the tube's length means the light runs along the wall rather than pooling at one point. Facing up, it washes the wall softly and keeps the brightest output away from the mattress. The metal frame reads as a deliberate line above a bed, so keep the surrounding scheme simple — plain bedding, a timber or upholstered headboard, one piece of art centred above.

Hallway, corridor and stair — rhythm along a long wall. Because the shade is long and narrow, a repeated run on a corridor or stair wall creates a steady rhythm rather than a series of bright spots, which is what makes long passages feel calm instead of glaring. Facing up is usually the better choice in a stairwell, where you want the wall lit and not the treads. If you are working across several rooms, the Design Inspiration & Ideas journal has more gold-and-glass schemes, and the Full Lighting Collection carries coordinating fixtures.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I install these myself?

They are hardwired fixtures that connect permanently to a junction box, so a qualified electrician should make the connection unless you are experienced with mains wiring. Setup is otherwise simple — connect the wires, then fit the bulb and the glass shade — and all mounting hardware is included. This is not a plug-in fixture, so there is no cord to an outlet.

What bulbs do they take, and can I dim them?

The sockets are standard E26 with a heat-resistant ceramic housing, and bulbs are not included. Choose a bulb rated for enclosed fixtures, since a glass tube traps heat. Dimming depends on the bulb and the wall switch: fit a dimmable bulb and a compatible dimmer and the fixtures will dim, but neither is supplied.

What are the dimensions, and where will they fit?

Each fixture measures 15.4 inches in length, which is long enough to light a wide vanity or read as a linear feature on a wall. Around a mirror, plan the pair so the shades sit at roughly eye height when standing, with even spacing either side. Above a bed or along a corridor, align them to a consistent height so the run stays level. Check clearance above any counter or furniture before fixing the bracket.

How do I clean the glass and the gold frame?

Switch the circuit off and let the fixture cool first. Clean the glass tube with a soft cloth and a small amount of mild soapy water, then dry it immediately so no water spots remain. The brushed gold frame wipes with a dry cloth — avoid metal polishes and abrasive pads, which will flatten the brushed texture and leave it patchy.

How is the set shipped, and how long does delivery take?

Orders are processed within 3–5 business days and standard delivery takes 7–15 business days, shipped in protective foam-in-box packaging with tracking provided. The glass shades are wrapped in double layers of foam inside the carton, and both fixtures and all mounting hardware travel together.

What does the warranty and return policy cover?

Unused items in original packaging can be returned within 30 days. This fixture carries a 36-month warranty, and if a defect appears within that period we will arrange a replacement without requiring the faulty unit to be sent back. If a glass shade arrives broken despite the foam packing, contact us directly and we will send a replacement shade at no cost.
