Design & Materials
Kumo means cloud. It is the softness of the sky just before sunrise, when pale light first turns warm.
We wanted a wall light that brings that moment home. Each round shade is cut from natural white alabaster, a translucent stone artisans have shaped for thousands of years. When the Kumo is off, the stone looks quiet and milky. Switch it on and its veining appears, drifting and layered like cloud, while warm 3000K light falls gently from beneath.

Good to Know
Is the shade made of real alabaster?
Yes. Every Kumo shade is natural white alabaster stone, not plastic or resin. You can see its veining most clearly when the light is on.
Will my Kumo look exactly like the photos?
Very close, but not identical. Because alabaster is natural stone, each shade has its own veining and slight colour variation. This is a natural feature of real stone, not a defect.
Can I change the direction of the light?
Yes. Each alabaster head rotates, so you can tilt it up or down and turn it left or right. Aim the light down the wall, onto a mirror, or toward artwork.
How warm is the light?
The Kumo uses a 3000K warm white LED, close to the soft, golden tone of a classic warm bulb. It is relaxing for bedrooms and evening use, and still clear enough for a dressing table.
Is it dimmable, and how do I turn it on?
The standard Kumo turns on and off with a push-button switch on the wood base and is not dimmable. If you need a dimmable version, please contact us before ordering.
