The shape borrows from the working lights that hung along piers and loading docks, where a guarded glass shade and a broad reflector were simply what kept a bulb alive and a walkway visible. What is it actually made of?
The disc shade, the gooseneck arm, and the cage are brass. The cylinder inside the cage is real clear glass — not acrylic, not plastic. Nothing here is a printed or wrapped finish pretending to be metal.
Will it rust?
Brass contains no iron, so it doesn't rust the way painted steel does. If the surface ever gets scratched, you'll see metal underneath — not the orange bloom that starts at every chip on a steel fixture.
Which bulb do I need?
It takes a standard screw-in bulb — E26 in North America, E27 in Europe and most of Asia. Choose the base that matches your region. Because the glass is clear, a tubular or teardrop warm-white bulb looks best inside the cage.
Can I put it outside?
This fixture is rated IP20 — indoor use only. It suits an entry, hallway, kitchen, or stairwell, and a fully covered porch where rain never reaches it. Please don't mount it on an exposed wall or anywhere it can get wet.
